HOW TO CONFIGURE YOUR DIRECTV RECEIVER

1) Press "Menu" and select "Parental, Fav's & Setup"
2) Select "System Setup"
3) Select "Whole-Home"
4) Select "Name Location" and enter the name of the room you are in (for example: "Living Room" or "Master Bedroom"
5) Select "External Device" and make sure all three options are set to "Allow"
That's it! Start this app on your phone, and your receiver will be detected!

So let me get this right, because DIRECTV removed their playlist ability there lowing the price of the app to $1.98? This does not seem like a good deal at all, but more of a discount rate for a faulty software issues. I get to use DISH’s free app called Dish Remote Access. This allows me to use my phone or tablet as a remote with full DVR functions. A DISH co-worker mentioned to me that DISH now has the best DVR out called the Hopper. The Hopper has a 2 terabyte hard drive (making it the largest hard drive in pay-TV industry) and it’s the fastest satellite receiver out with a 750 MHZ processor. It can record up to six shows at once and it holds 250 hours of HD content. Customers can manage their DVR recordings with Dish Remote Access app with full functions.
